Press Release - SPRING CLASSIC CANCELLED

With most of the Midwest currently under the grips of topsy-turvy spring weather and with a worsening forecast for this Sunday (High of 40 degrees, Rain & Snow Mix expected), officials with the Rockford Speedway have decided to cancel the 42nd Annual Spring Classic, which was scheduled for Sunday April 14.

Rockford Speedway officials currently still plan to open the track this Saturday April 13 from 12 PM to 4 PM for Open Practice. The practice is open to any and all types of race cars who would like to break-in their machines for the upcoming racing season.

With an eye towards next year, drivers and race fans should mark their calendars for the 43rd Spring Classic at Rockford Speedway, set for Saturday evening April 18 2020
Welcome to the 2019 Season

April is here and so is our 20th season of Racing!

Hard to believe that some of us have been racing these racecars since 1999 - Having raced at over 25 tracks with over 200 drivers in that time we are very excited about our upcoming season.

The mission has not changed - keep racing safe, affordable, competitive, family friendly and most of all have fun.  We have males and females from 10 to older adults that compete on the finest short tracks in the Midwest.

We have drivers that use this series to start careers in racing and reach the NASCAR level, some become local hero's at their racetracks.  We have some drivers that just want a awesome hobby and want to test their skills.  We have had drivers that are now second generation drivers in these cars, we have had family members that race against each other.

The point is -  Get out of the stands and into a car and enjoy the sport.  American Super Cups has provided the best racing program in the country for the past 20 years and that is why we have best driver retention and interest levels.

There are many ways and forms of racing on weekends - American Super Cups Racing Series provides the best value and experience to see what racing is about.

The schedule is nearing completion and we look forward to seeing  everyone soon - Check back often for more information
Press Release – American Super Cups Racing SeriesApril 28, 2019
Once again after Mother Nature took care of race one at Rockford Speedway a few weeks ago it was nice to return to the Slinger Speedway for our second scheduled race of the 2019 season. Slinger is a high banked oval always produce the best Super Cup Racing. You could not ask for better weather. Much of the state was covered in snow south of Slinger and some of our drivers were buried in 6” of snow. Sunny and warm were the conditions for most of the race day. Drivers arrived and started to unload in anticipation of some great racing and that’s what was delivered.

Qualifying – Practice sessions went well for everyone and gave drivers a chance to dial in the racecars. Qualifying resulted in Rookie Logan Julien capturing fasted time of the day at 15.030. Michael Rose is back in the saddle and came in second, Jessica Talley were the top three gaining top qualifier points.

Heat race one – Matt Rose, led the field to the green with Mick Ellis on the outside. Matt quickly jumped to the lead and drivers battled behind. The other drivers were able to turn faster laps then what Matt won with but because of the battles they were unable to overtake him. Extremely close racing in that heat ended with Matt winning the race. Mick Ellis taking second followed by, Michael Rose, Jessica Talley and Del Schueler rounding out the top five.

Heat race two – Sean Eurick and Brandon Vines were on the front row in this heat. This heat was all Rookies and they did not disappoint the fans. Brandon jumped into the lead and the drivers behind were battled. Just like the first heat the other drivers were able to make faster laps then the leader but could not reel him in. Sean Eurick came in a close second followed by Ryan Mader who turned the fastest lap in the heat. Carter Wiess and Kendal Tracy rounded out the top 5.

Feature Race – Matt led the field to the green again with Del on the outside. Matt took advantage of Del moving up the track, Mick followed closely. Matt then slid up the track and opened the door for Mick to take the lead. Mick was able to hit the marks and pull away to a slight lead as the others battled tightly behind him. Eventually things settled and the top 6 drivers finished under a blanket coming to the checkered. Mick, Matt, Jessica, Del, Michael and Logan were the top six.
With these results 10 cars able to run in the 15 second bracket making for close racing and a great show for the fans. Great job by all the veteran and rookie drivers. Really looking forward to a competitive racing season with the best super cup racing in the country.

Race #4 Press Release – American Super Cups Racing SeriesJune 5, 2019

First time feature winners are the best! American Super Cups returned to Slinger Speedway for our fourth scheduled race of the 2019 season. This will be our busiest stretch of the season with four races over four weeks. Once again, the weather was excellent for the evening of racing. Not too hot or cold. To start the evening a few of our drivers ventured into the stands for a autograph session and pictures and then the racing begins.

Qualifying – Practice sessions went well for everyone and gave drivers a chance to dial in the racecars. Qualifying resulted in hot shoe Jessica Talley capturing her first fast time of the season at 14.965. Michael Rose landed his second place again and local driver Del Scheler received his first point in the top qualifier point category.

Heat race one – Mick Ellis, led the field to the green with Del on the outside. Mick and Del battled in the front the entire 8 laps with Mick in the low line and Del hanging tough in the outside lane. They finished the race just .113 seconds apart with Mick winning the first heat. The other drivers once again were able to turn faster laps but because of the battles back in the field they were unable to overtake the leaders. The remaining top 5 were Matt Rose, Logan Julien and Jessica.

Heat race two – Sean Eurick and Parker Lindemann were on the front row in this heat. This heat was all rookies. Carter Wiess made a jump to the lead from the second row early in the race. Carter was able to pull away from the rest of the field and cruise to a win. He was followed by Ryan Mader, First race of the year rookie Halley Hoffman, Sean Eurick and Kendall Tracy for the top five positions. Parker experienced a mechanical issue but was able to return for the feature race.

Feature Race – Young guns Del and Michael led the field to the green again. Del was able to grab the lead initially. The top six drivers battled for much of the 20-lap feature. Matt was able to overtake Del a few laps into the race the lead. Matt was able to hit the marks and pull away to a slight lead as the others battled tightly behind him. Eventually things settled and the top 6 drivers finished under a blanket coming to the checkered. Del, Jessica, Michael, Rookie Logan and Mick were the top six.

With these results 12 of 13 cars able to run in the 15 second bracket making for close competitive racing and a great show for the fans. Once again, great job by all the veteran and rookie drivers. Really looking forward to a continued competitive racing season with the best super cup racing in the country.
