American Super Cup Series Recap.

It was a cold nasty day but you wouldn’t know by the car counts and the number of people in the stands. I would like to thank Slinger Super Speedway and their staff for doing a great job with great organization and keeping the show running. I’m sure my friend Gregg McKarns was helping along the way. It was great seeing Gregg at the track and hope to see him soon at Madison International Speedway this summer in the Super Cup car. Now to the American Super Cup Series.

Again outstanding display of professionalism and organization from start to finish with Mick Ellis for making sure all paperwork was complete from all the new rookies to all us veterans. Sydni Ellis, Brian Baldyga and Kevin Langenecker did an amazing job doing safety pre checks, car inspections and technical inspections.

Now the best part. Congratulations to Mike Rose for another dominating performance at your home track. We all now you are the one we have to beat at Slinger Super Speedway. Who would have thought American Super Cup Series would go international with 2 drivers under 1 team from Canada that traveled 28 hours to not just show up but be very competitive right off the truck. Sebastian and Berlyn drove their tails off and it paid off in the end. We had 18 cars because of the help race teams received from the following. Carter Appleton Racing let Monk’s Racing use their spare motor so both Monk’s Racing vehicles could come out and play with us in the cold.

Another cool statistic is 6 of the 18 drivers were females representing Alberta Canada, Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana. It’s was some great race but mentally exhausting for the drivers and spotters. There was something going on every square inch of the track. Not 1 caution in a 30 lap race with 5 or 6 rookies says a lot for the entire field of cars and 2 trucks. Great job everyone!!!

I would like to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for not only excepting the new racers with open arms to our racing series family but for helping Cris Pichman Baaske and I making Rylee Baaske 16th birthday a memorable one. All teams please post any pictures you have from yesterdays race in comments.

Congratulations to all the race teams and drivers on a great 2023 season!
